The concept and the true meaning of Christmas came to me in the true limelight recently. Thanks to a cake mixing ceremony which I incidentally attended on persuasion of a friend of mine who is a diehard fan of an Online Bakery of Kolkata by the name of levanilla.in .This Bakery holds this ceremony every year since its inception and invites its customer to realise the true meaning of Christmas which they believe is much beyond Christmas cake and merriment. Customers were appraised with the real meaning and of Christmas which I would like to share.
The meaning of true Christmas is really interesting and intriguing in the sense that it started much before the birth of Christ. The festivity of Christmas is actually a culmination of different pertinent natural climatic situation aligned with religious beliefs and birth of JESUS CHRIST. However, much before Christ was born, Christmas celebration was actually aligned with the winter solstice sunset. This marks the end of the cold dreaded winter and a new usher of returning daylight and arrival of a new year and a new beginning.
The Stonehenge in England was probably put up to measure the winter solstice light three thousand years ago. The end of winters was announced and the returning daylight was welcomed. The sky unbuttoned its gloomy winter jacket with a promise of longer daylight and warmth. With it brought the announcement of the coming new year with its new hope and aspirations.
The birth of Christ also aligned with this natural climatic condition to make Christmas the day of supreme importance to believer of Christianity. Christ the Saviour was born in this auspicious juncture and the New Star showed the way of a new beginning. He was born to save humanity from it’s suffering. The Christmas Day depicts deep religious faith and trust.
The word Merry before Christmas has a deep significance. Christmas announces the start of a season of merriment in form of natural climatic conditions and festivity related to the ensuing new year which knocks the door. The arrival of the saviour of humankind at the same juncture added to the time when all looks good and bright.
Christmas time is magic time. The mysterious Santa Clause arrives on his reindeer sledge to shower happiness to the young. The decoration of the Christmas tree, the tying of socks and the belief that he exists sow the first seed of belief and faith.
Christmas is actually time for families to come together and renew ties with one another. It is the time to renew their faith in family and near and dear ones. Family get together to strengthen the family bond. Special Christmas supper is prepared and Christmas pudding is consumed. A visit to the Church renews faith and belief in religion. Christmas is the time for giving and sharing. Moreover, a grand time for festivity and merriment. Thanks to levanilla.in for putting up the actual meaning of Christmas in the limelight.
